BRIEF HISTORY OF PLEROMA FAITH MINISTRIES
The word PLEROMA is a Greek word which means FULLNESS OF GOD that God Almighty opened the eyes of Rev. Oluwatunmise Yusuf to behold as he studied the Book of Colossians 2: 9-10 as an unmarried young pastor and a Bible school student in All Nations For Christ Bible Institute International, Benin-City, (ANFCBII) while serving under his spiritual father and mentor and his wife, Rev. and Rev. (Mrs) Dele Soyemi in Church of God Mission (CGMI), Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria in 1999.
The word Pleroma had a strong impact on Rev. Tunmise that he could not easily shake off. He wrote it in different places, carved it on his office wall in CGMI Ondo town, Ondo State and insisted that his wedding programme be tagged “COMPLETENESS 2008 (G.K. PLEROMA),” when he got married to now Mrs. Julie Oluwatunmise Yusuf, his beloved wife.
His wife, Julie, heard the word Pleroma from him but never for once did either of them imagine that Pleroma will end up being a Ministry or metamorphose into a full blown Ministry.
By 2012, between June and July, his wife, Julie, was at home alone meditating on some ministerial issues that had brought her deep pains when suddenly out of the depth/pangs of those painful thoughts, she heard the LORD God Almighty’s voice loud and clear saying “Pleroma Ministries.”
She was shocked and turned around wondering what that meant. She meditated on those words and later told her husband what the LORD said. But since they didn’t understand it and were not willing to pioneer a ministerial work, they abandoned what the LORD GOD had said and continued with the ministry they were working with then.
It was in the midst of so many challenges and abject poverty, that one day in 2014, his wife Julie, while cooking in her old pest-infested kitchen spoke aloud to herself saying “LORD, IS IT TIME TO LEAVE CGM?” She asked that question without really expecting an answer but God in His infinite mercies replied with a loud voice saying, “IT IS LONG OVERDUE.” She was amazed and completely overwhelmed by the Lord’s response. She told her husband and that was when for the first time, they took the Call with seriousness and started praying and fasting for God’s leading.
To the glory of God, Pleroma Faith Ministries was born on September 12, 2014 as a fellowship in their house then at 194b, Iralepo Palace, Akure but officially commenced as a church on February 8th, 2015 at 15b, Odio-Olowo Street, Isinkan, Off Arakale, Akure.
Pleroma Faith Ministries is a story of God’s grace, kindness and faithfulness in full display. It has been God all the way and we are so grateful. HALLELUYAH!
